Meet the clinicians behind the service
When you are dizzy, trust matters. You want to know you are being listened to, assessed properly, and guided with clear next steps.
Our dizziness and vertigo service is delivered by clinicians with a vastly experienced neuro rehabilitation focus, Rachel Kalin and Janelle Grubner.
Rachel Kalin, Physiotherapist
Rachel’s clinical work centres on neurological rehabilitation and complex symptom presentations, including balance and vestibular issues. Rachel graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (2011), from the University of Otago and completed Post Grad Diploma in Rehabilitation in 2020.
Rachel has also highlighted a real-world gap that many patients can experience even in larger centres, where people can struggle to findthe appropriate rehabilitation for their dizziness, especially when symptoms overlap with concussion history.
Janelle Grubner, Physiotherapist
Janelle graduated from AUT in 2005 with a Bachelor in Health Science and completed her BradCliff Breathing Method Practitioner training (2020).
Along with her extensive experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of dizziness and vertigo, Janelle also has extensive knowledge on dysfunction breathing and respiratory rehabilitation.
What this means for you
You will get a structured appointment that aims to:
- Identify likely contributors to your dizziness or vertigo
- Provide practical next steps
- Support you with targeted rehab where appropriate
If you have been bounced around, or told “everything looks normal”, you are not alone. Dizziness is often missed when it is not assessed in a targeted way.
