Matthew Manderson

Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist

Matthew works with concussed clients to help them improve their cognitive and psychological wellbeing following concussion.  He may complete cognitive testing with you to determine any difficulties you are having with memory, attention, processing speed and executive functioning.  He is going to help you understand what happens when you get concussed, and most importantly, how to start feeling better as soon as possible.

Andrew Larkin

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist

Andrew works with patients who have been Concussed and have on-going pain, loss of function and reduced spinal motion following a concussion. Assessment includes ensuring the Spinal joints are moving appropriately and surrounding muscles aren’t excessively tight or in spasm and are also stabilising the spine correctly. Along with “hands on” treatment, a patient specific  home exercise programme is important to ensure a full rehabilitation follow a concussion.

Janelle Grubner

Physiotherapist

You may experience a range of symptoms after a concussion which may include vertigo, dizziness, balance and spatial orientation issues, visual issues, autonomic dysfunction and cervicogenic symptoms which may include neck pain, stiffness and headaches.  Janelle will complete a detailed assessment to determine factors that are contributing to your concussion symptoms and a treatment plan will be based on the above assessments.  They will provide guidance around managing symptoms and provide advice around return to exercise, sport and work.

Kathy James

Occupational Therapist

Kathy works alongside Lauren to support clients on their recovery journey following concussion injury. As one of our Occupational Therapist Kathy will work alongside the multidisciplinary team, providing education and strategies to you, that will enable you to achieve your goals and return to pre-injury occupations including activities of daily living, leisure, community activities and/or work.

Michelle McIntosh

Occupational Therapist

With over 20 years of experience in concussion management, Michelle provides a specialist lens to the assessment and recovery process. She brings a unique perspective to managing the functional impact of concussion, with a focus on supporting a gradual return to daily activities. Her approach involves providing early education to help prevent the progression of symptoms and avoid potential psychosocial complications.

By utilising current guidelines and best practices, Michelle works alongside the team to ensure post-concussion symptoms are effectively identified and treated. She expertly guides clients and their workplaces with return to work and play activities, helping individuals to safely and confidently re-engage in the occupations that are important to them.
